The Green Caravan Film Festival is back for its second season with more films, a larger audience and a greater variety of venues to enjoy.
The Green Caravan is not only the first film festival of its kind in Kuwait, it is also one of a small handful of film festivals worldwide dedicated entirely to environmental issues.
We believe that in order to meet the serious environmental challenges of our time a film festival is a unique way to:Bring people and organizations together to cooperate and learnUse the powerful medium of film to inspire and educate large numbers of peopleMotivate people to action that is both effective and well informed
This year the festival returns with a special selection of films from the region and around the world that highlight the issues of Marine Conservation, Waste & Pollution and Climate Change. As many as 90 per cent of all the ocean’s large fish have been fished out. 70% of the world’s fish species are either fully exploited or depleted.An international group of ecologists and economists warned that the world will run out of seafood by 2048.March 2010 was the warmest on record.April 2010 was the warmest on record.In 2010, there are now 50 million environmentally displaced people.25,000 people die every day from hunger-related causes.
